Sabato 13 luglio all’età di 53 anni è morta l’attrice Shannen Doherty, a darne l’annuncio è stata la sua agente Leslie Sloane con queste parole:
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.
The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”
L’attrice è nota ed amatissima soprattutto per il ruolo di Brenda Walsh nella serie cult generazionale Beverly Hills 90210, e per il ruolo di Prue Halliwell nel supernatural teen Streghe. Il primo ruolo importante per Doherty arrivò a 11 anni nel ruolo di Jenny Wilder in un’altra serie storica La casa nella prateria.
All’attrice era stato diagnosticato un tumore nel 2015, da allora si erano susseguiti cure e interventi.
